THE EXHIBITION
«I did it because I was bored»- this well know sentence tells us a lot about our nature. One of the aspects of the boredom is that it influences our motivation to act, even if the action in itself doesn’t guaranteed the victory on the boredom. The drab and repetitive activity, everyday rituals, corporate job, more generally what deprives of the idleness can provoke some frustration, can lead to a state of torpor, or even generate a pathology. Fun- damentally life is boring, in the sense of a struggle to survive and the competition control- led by our genes and instincts. Something that we do not have any control if we would not use our liveware, would be pretty not attractive. Boredom determines us, our life, stimula- tes us to take action and it is the reason, why we brood over our lives and the others. Three young polish artists in the All Over gallery, based in Lyon, are preparing the bases
of a discussion about boredom and its sense. By using everyday life examples, they will debate on the passivity, mobilization, stagnation, depression and life.
